Unexplained lip ulcers. Please diagnose?

I get these things on my lip - usually my lower lip. I only get a single one at any given time, although I once had two separate ones at the same time. It'll start as a hard lump on my lower lip, about 1/4-1/3 cm in diameter. 1-2 days later it will be red, raised and tender, and 3-4 days later it will be a red, raw ulceration where the top skin has peeled away. At this point there will be very slight oozing of clear liquid, and it may crust. The thing will be completely healed after about a week to ten days.

Reasons why I don't think it's oral herpes/cold sores:

1) The lump never occurs on the edge of my lip. It sits right about the center of my lip - the pink part. See these pictures so you understand:

2) It never happens in clusters
3) It's never a blister
4) It's a big bump that turns into an ulcer. It doesn't resemble any pictures I've ever seen of cold sores.

No one seems to know what these things are. And NO, I can't afford a doctor to diagnose me IRL. I'm not lucky enough to live in a country with universal healthcare.

I'm just a little confused about conservatism. It seems a little contradictory to want the gov't completely out of people's lives... except when religion, vices, sex and reproduction come into discussion- aka things that people do in private, in their free time and do not concern the greater society. Government action is unacceptable when it concerns the public sphere (healthcare, education etc.), yet it's encouraged when it tells consenting adults what to do in the bedroom, whether they can marry or not, whether they can end an unwanted and potentially harming pregnancy or not and so on. How's that?

If it's all about freedom, why can't it be freedom to do everything except that which harms others? Why should people's most valued freedoms be only the freedom to buy, sell, consume and produce, and the freedom to bear arms?

And no, I'm not a liberal. Fiscally I'm right-leaning.

Not necessarily regulating morality, but just wrong. Was this really necessary, since I've stated that I'm fiscally right-leaning?

our government on state local and federal level spends over 50% of all dollars spent on healthcare in the country, we have a dept of education that dictates education from the federal level, ever president since eisenhower has increased govt involvement in healthcare, you need a government permit to open any kind of business in america, businesses get subsidized at the government discretion, taxed at the governments discretion and their regulations are enforced at the governments discretion, farming is subsidized heavily, we have a central bank called the federal reserve, we have to pay taxes to the government to "rent" our property, the government can steal our land under eminent domain meaning there is no true privately owned property, you have to pay tribute to the government for the privilege of working (income tax), there is an inheritance tax, we have an FCC, we have national forests and land, we have a minimum wage, if you actually look up the 10 tenants that karl marx says are necessary for the transition from socialism to communism, the US is currently undertaking at least 9 if not all 10 of them.

I don't support conservative candidates because they only seem to represent the interests of america's largest corporations, but didn't the democrats do more for the (predatory) private insurance market than any republicans ever have?

Conservatives: How would you go about reforming healthcare?

Conservatives keep screaming that Obama's health care plan is horrible, but the problem is that they are so busy screaming about its horribleness that they don't offer any alternatives for insuring the 40 million uninsured citizens. I believe that part of the reason why Obama won is because in the media all you heard was republicans demonizing his health care reform which insinuates that they feel there's nothing wrong with our current state of affairs.

Background: When I was in High School I was hit with Cancer.. I was under my father's insurance...but when I was 20 the cancer came back and all I had was my school insurance which only covered 25,000 in medical expenses. My father tried to get me some insurance but they all rejected me because of my history. Two of them accepted me but made the premiums so high I'm sure they didn't expect us to be able to afford it. I had to drop out of college and ended up with a 1.2 million medical bill. Since then I've been on medicaid, but I have to do under the table jobs only because if you make over $600 a month you're not eligible. I'm afraid to go off medicaid and get insurance through a job because if I get laid off I'll lose my insurance & I won't be eligible for medicaid for at least 2 years after being laid off as that is the rule. What if the cancer comes back?
