Question #1:
how come science people don't get involved in politics so much?
i ma talking about engineers, physicists, physicians, real science people it seams to me that most of the political specter is made of lawyers, sometimes journalists and economists, witch in my opinion are incompetent by nature since these people took the way in life witch required less work and not so much intellect either they don't have the mind set to solve problems, I look at all the politicians and I am amazed how moronic their statements are, than I look at their background and college degrees and I realize that this is the big problem, Really smart people don't really get involved and they don't get access to legislator or governance type of positions. I would like to know why and if that will change in the future...or should it change..in your opinion?Question #2:
Why are people so against immigrants when america gets some of the world's most talented as immigrants?
like cmon..if america did not get the german jews in world war ii such as einstein, would they have been able to become the center for nuclear or atomic weaponsif the founders of google who are originally from russia never immigrated to the united states, we would not have the huge and successful company google
and if taiwanese immigrants were not allowed to come to america, then america would not even have this website..this website was founded after all by jerry yang who is a taiwanese american
and what about all those indian immigrant physicians america has received in the past forty years
like if you think about it..these immigrants have greatly contributed to america's role as the center of innovation in technology and even in the military..hell, this great country was founded by immigrants from england originally
of course..i dont doubt that there are many people born and raised in america for generations that have greatly contributed to the success of america..but immigrants do deserve some credit
lol..einstein born in new jersey..ha..he fled nazi rule in germany to work at princeton in jersey

Question #4:
Can I sue OB for me losing my baby?
I told my OB that I've had hypothyroidism since I was 4 years old. He checked it in February and said it was in normal range, he didn't want to check it anymore and then May 29th I went into premature labor at 19 weeks 3 days and lost my daughter. My ob said there was no reason and I asked him if my thyroid could have caused it and he said no cause it was normal in february. Well at my follow up I asked him if he could check my thyroid and he said no it don't need checked for another few months. So I went to my regular physician and had him check my thyroid and it was messed up (he had to lower my dosage) so I called my OB and told him my thyroid was messed up and asked if that could have caused me to lose my daughter and he says "yeah that could have caused you to go into premature labor, its a huge possibility". I was told an OB is supposed to check my thyroid every 4-6 weeks. I feel that if the ob would have kept checking it I'd still be pregnant with my little girl...instead he wanted to go 6 months without checking it KNOWING I have hypothyroidism. Do ya'll think I could sue him for this??? No I'm not in it just for the money, I'm extremely hurt that he could have prevented my loss and didn't.Question #5:

Are you disgusted by the fact that some vaccines are made from aborted fetuses?
Vaccines from Abortion: The Hidden TruthFor over thirty years pharmaceutical companies have been quietly producing vaccines using the remains of aborted babies, a fact that was deliberately hidden from the general public for decades. But as the grisly details emerged through several pro-life publications, a growing number of parents and physicians were both shocked and deeply disturbed to discover the truth surrounding these vaccines — and rightfully so! What follows is just the tip of the iceberg!
During the 1964 Rubella epidemic some doctors advised rubella-infected pregnant women to abort their children, based on the fear their baby might be born with birth defects. Working along side these doctors, researchers collected the live fetal tissue. Ultimately, they extracted the virus from the 27th aborted baby’s kidney, labeling it RA273. (R=Rubella, A=Abortus, 27=27th abortion in the study, 3=3rd tissue explanted) This viris was then cultivated on WI-38 (Wistar Institute No. 38) a cell line produced from the lung tissue of a 3 months gestation female baby, electively aborted in Sweden. But prior to perfecting Wl-38, there were numerous other abortions involved in the research. Ultimately, scientists documented at least 8 elective abortions to produce the rubella vaccine alone.
Following the US lead, 10 years later scientists in the UK developed MRC-5, taken from the lung tissue of a male baby aborted at 14 weeks gestation. These two fetal cell lines are used to continuously cultivate the weakened virus strains of several diseases to produce vaccines.
Current Trends
Because the pharmaceutical industry perceives public acceptance of the current vaccines, they continue to utilize both existing and new aborted fetal sources for vaccine development. The latest is a new fetal cell line, PER C6, created by Dutch pharmaceutical, Crucell, NV. This cell line uses the retinal tissue of an 18-week gestation baby, created specifically for vaccine development.

Would you recommend physician assistant or a nursing?
I have always loves medicine and science, and my passion is to work in the medical field.I often find myself reading medical books and watching shows that are medical related. My goal was to become a RN, but I am confused and unsure now.
I like PA's for the fact they work more on a medical scale compared to nurses. I respect both careers, but I am unsure if nursing is my fit. I have volunteered and shadowed a nurse in the hospital this summer, and was very fascinated with what went on there..
I am currently in college taking general studies towards the nursing requirements, but unsure if I should go for PA instead. What would you recommend for me?

My 3 yr old son got a pretty bad gash in the middle of his forehead last week?
It resembled a bullet-hole, only wider. I could see straight to his bone--brought him to the hospital via ambulance and they irrigated the wound 3 x and used dermabond. In the middle of the dermabonding process, they decided to stop to get the attending physician to see if the wound was too deep and maybe stitches would be better. The attending physician thought it was fine to use dermabond on the wound. Two days later I brought him to the pediatrician because it was bleeding--not tons, but def. dripping down his face. She cleaned it off a bit and said to keep an eye on it. I did--and it oozed for a couple of days and today he woke up with a nasty swollen eye. Could be a bug bite...could not? Not sure. It has gotten worse as the day has gone on....almost swollen shut. I'm curious...what are the chances it is associated to his head injury? Thank you all!to odimwitdn--whatever the hell ur name is--I see you have nothing better to do that be and idiot when real people are seeking genuine help. You're an ass for sure and I hope you rot--I don't appreciate your sarcasm and your thoughts were the farthest I've seen from being "advice." Go screw yourself.
Question #12:
Showing at 13 weeks-- not bloating?
Everyone I know started showing around 5 months, but I am showing at three. At first, because everyone always says...oh, it's bloating. I figured it was bloating-- even though it's low in my pelvic region and hard-- never goes away regardless of gas or pooping (and I am not constipated). So, I finally asked my brother who is a physician and he laughed and said, "No, that's a baby!" I am thin for my size which he said can cause people to show earlier-- espeically since I have a FLAT stomach.Has anyone else shown as early as 13 weeks? I feel like people think I am faking it and I'm not! I would LOVE to be able to button my jeans.

I'm torn whether to go to school in the south (to stay colse-ish) or if I should just "pack up and leave" ya' know and just go to school somewhere in New England or Mid-Atlantic, etc. In one way I want to stay close to my home state and in another way I just want to get out go somewhere far away....I don't know...
My question is: How did you find the right college? How do you find out which part of the country you should go to college in? What resources did you use? Etc. Please give all advice you have on the subject!

If you had to save a baby or get sued?
An ambulance service was recently held liable for failing to “do what was necessary” before accepting emergency transport of pregnant patient.A child was born at 25 weeks gestation — 15 weeks premature — and was not breathing. Babies born at this age have a viability of 50-70%. In other words, up to half of children born at this age of gestation die. The family called 911. The paramedics arrived, performed CPR on the child, and brought the child back to life. I know a lot of physicians who would have difficulty resuscitating such a premature infant.
These paramedics should have been commended as heroes for saving this child’s life.
Instead, they were sued and found liable for $10 million.
The plaintiff attorney stated that “the paramedic should have evaluated her before they transported her.”
In its verdict, the jury found that the ambulance company “was negligent by accepting the transport task” and the company showed “reckless disregard” in rendering its services.
So instead of getting to the mother as soon as possible, getting the baby out, performing CPR, and saving his life, the attorney apparently believes that the paramedics were supposed to diddle around arguing about whether or not to transport the mother to a hospital. Good idea. Let’s write that requirement into all future Florida EMS protocols. We can call it the “Kelley Amendment” — named after Bob Kelley, the plaintiff’s attorney in the case.
After the verdict, the ambulance company may soon have to determine whether it can stay in business.
A past-president of the American Ambulance Association is quoted as saying “EMTs and paramedics will go on the call until lawsuits like this break the bank and they can’t go anymore. That is $10 million that comes out of the ability to provide care, and the community will suffer because of that cost.”
As I’ve asked in the past, which is more important — perfect care or available care?
Jurors in Florida’s Volusia County seem to have made their decision.
It will be interesting to see whether the jurors’ decision to award an additional $10 million to someone who had the benefit of excellent care yet who experienced a bad outcome will affect the future availability of emergency transport in Volusia County and other Florida counties.
My guess is that few EMTs will want to work in Volusia County any more.
Regardless of the verdict, you EMTs are still heroes in my book.

Question #20:
Does thickening of the endotrieum lining of the uterus mean cancer?
I just got results from an vaginal sonogram that I had done because of pelvic pain, and the doctor just called to tell me I need to be referred out to have a biopsy. She is not a gyn doctor, she is physician assistant. I have an appointment with a gyn Friday. I am 45, have adult kids, have no irregular bleeding, just pain in my pelvic area which actually goes away once my monthly comes, but then comes back a few weeks later. Been going on for a month. Do I have unterine cancer? Scared to death!!!! Could it be anything else? I know the biopsy is to see if there is cancer, but could the thickening of the lining mean something else? Or am I pretty much doomed in that it's cancer? Please help. My mind and heart feel like they are going to explode. I want to see my grandkids grow. If I thought there were possiblities that i could be something else, I might be able to function. I googled it and keep finding CANCER CANCER CANCER. Thank you so much for replies.** Powered by Yahoo Answers
